About Me - How I Got Here
I am a recent graduate of the University of Ulster’s Interactive Multimedia Design degree, and was awarded a First Class with Honours. I am now studying a Masters course in Multidisciplinary Design, with a focus on data aggragation and presentation, making useful data easier to actually use.
What I Do
As a web developer and designer I spend a lot of time looking at code, fine tuning and tinkering with both how the site looks and how the site works. Both of these elements are needed for good design. I concentrate heavier on the development side of things, with an appreciation of how important the design is.
I also spend time teaching others when I get an opportunity. Recently I had a chance to teach the current students of the IMD course I graduated from, and it was a very rewarding experience. I look forward to seeing what they can accomplish in the coming years.
When I’m not studying or teaching, I can quite often be found tinkering, playing with, experimenting on and (occasionally) breaking code. I enjoy creating things and solving problems on the web. When not playing with web related things, I am also quite the fan of travelling and drawing, two things I don’t get to spend nearly enough time doing.
My Work Status
I’m always working toward something. I have a few projects in various stages of development both as an independant developer and as part of a dedicated design team. As these projects go live, they require minimal attention and open my day up to even more opportunities.
I’ve worked with a few clients in the past as a freelance developer, and am always open to making new business relationships. While my time is limited, especially during the Masters course, feel free to contact me with your proposal and if I can’t help you, I probably know someone who can.
